A fresh Perspective for Oshawa
I care about Oshawa. I've built a life here, I'm raising my girls here, and I want to see our city continue to be a place where people can build a good life for themselves and their families.
Something I often say when I'm out knocking on doors is that we know what we have here, even if others don't always see it.
There's an unwritten promise in Oshawa, one that I grew up believing. That this is a good place to raise a family, a good place to work, to build something of your own and make a life.
I want that promise to remain true for the next generation.
I'm not running because I think I have all the answers or because I believe everything at City Hall needs to change. I'm running because I think there's value in bringing different experiences and perspectives to the council table.
I'll bring my experience as a business owner, a parent, a chef and someone who has spent years being involved in this community.
And I'll bring a willingness to listen, do my homework and make thoughtful decisions.
That's why I'm running. I believe in what we have here, and I want to be part of shaping what comes next.
Accessible city HallWe already have a lot of programs, services and community resources available to help residents, but that doesn't always mean people know what's available or where to turn for help.
I think we can do a better job of connecting people with those resources and making City Hall easier to navigate.
I'd like to see clearer communication and more opportunities to talk directly with residents, including community town halls.
I believe an important part of being a councillor is being someone residents can turn to when they're frustrated with a process, aren't sure what to do next or feel like their concerns aren't being heard. I may not always have the answer, but I can help ask the right questions and work toward finding one.
Local Business & Economic Development I've spent more than a decade running a business in downtown Oshawa. I know how much work goes into building something, creating jobs and keeping a business going.
I want Oshawa to be a city where people can find good jobs, start businesses and build a future for themselves.
I'd like to be involved in the City's economic development work, looking at how we attract new investment, support the businesses already here and make better use of the opportunities we have.
I also think our arts, culture, tourism and local events have an important role to play in building a stronger local economy.
We have a lot of potential here, and I'd like to help make more of it.
